Thibaut and his SUGG
“I saw this tiny bike and thought, what is that? I walked in, met Frédéric, and got the full story. I was sold.”
From a four-wheel dream to a two-wheel reality
I was a late bloomer when it comes to cycling. As a business engineer with over 30 years of corporate experience, I always equated success with owning a car. Around 10 years ago, after joining a mobility experiment through Beci (Brussels Chamber of Commerce), I discovered the power of bikes, e-bikes, public transport.
It was a whole new world. I realised that driving in Brussels made no sense. I was wasting time and energy. Since I started biking, I’m more active, more present in the city, and I don’t need a gym membership anymore.
Built for the kind of life I live
As a consultant and board member, I’m often bouncing between meetings in different cities. That’s where SUGG shines: it’s compact, agile, and train-friendly. I can ride around Brussels, hop on a train to Namur or Liège, and cycle to my next destination. And when I get to a client’s office, I can just roll it in and stash it in a corner.
A rolling conversation starter
You can’t ride a bright yellow mini-bike without attracting attention, but I truly enjoy that. People stop to talk about it. Deliveroo riders nod in recognition. And there’s a warmth in those everyday exchanges, something I never felt behind the wheel.
“SUGG is not about showing off. It’s about connection. A cute and catchy bike like this invites curiosity and conversation.”
3 reasons why SUGG made the cut
There are three reasons SUGG is my go-to. First, it’s small and easy to bring indoors, especially in sketchy areas.
Second, it’s flexible. If I pass a tram going to my destination and I could use that time to send a few emails, I just fold it up and hop on.
Third, it represents a mindset shift: mobility doesn’t have to be complex. Sometimes, you just need to start small.
“With SUGG, you’re not just getting a bike. You’re supporting a project with purpose, and a person who built it with care. That matters to me.”
